WELCOME TO EADER HOUSE

Hi!

We are so excited to be beginning our first business venture in Brownsville, Tennessee.  To kick things off, we'd like to give you a glimpse into what we're trying to achieve here at Eader House.

Who "we" are:

Evan and Rachel Ellington.  Evan, a Brownsville native, is the man behind the stove at Eader House.  And I'm Rachel, a Texan by birth and the accountant of the family.  Evan started cooking professionally in Oxford, MS while attending Ole Miss.  After spending the last two years in Nashville helping develop and manage the startup of two restaurants, an opportunity arose to return to Brownsville and have a place of his own.  Evan saw this as a chance to be closer to the people and farmers who grow and raise the things he loves to cook while exploring the culinary roots of West Tennessee.   My role in this venture is slightly more behind the scenes.  I promise I won't cook your food; I will, however, make sure that Evan is fully licensed to do so and probably pour you a glass or two of water [or wine].  Read more about us here.

What is Eader House?

Eader House is a historic home in the College Hill Historic District of Brownsville, TN.  The Greek Revival home was built by Jonathan Eader, our namesake, around 1865.  Click here for more information about the home.  Our goals for Eader House are many, but first and foremost, we hope to preserve this beautiful home for the community.  In doing so, we want to celebrate the rich, cultural heritage of Brownsville, West Tennessee, and the South.  For us, this means using the freshest produce and serving meat from happy animals that were pastured in the fields around us.  We are passionate about utilizing the amazing ingredients that are specific to this region.  Because of this, almost everything served at Eader House comes from farmers, dairies, families, and purveyors here in the Southeast.  Unless we preserved it ourselves, you won't be served anything from a can.

Are we Open?

The restaurant at Eader House is still under development.  We hope to begin restaurant service before the end of this year.

Currently, we are booking on-site and off-site catering and private dinners.  In addition, the home and/or property are available to rent for private events.  Whether you are seeking the perfect spot for an intimate private dinner with 10 of your closest friends, a blowout birthday party, or a wedding for 150 guests, we would love to host you.  Please contact us for more information!

Stay tuned for additional happenings at Eader House.  Keep up with our events and restaurant development progress here, on Facebook, and on Instagram.
